St Helens Drive is the transformation of a modest bungalow into a refined, high-spec forever home designed for modern living and effortless entertaining. Extensions to the rear, side, and roof unlocked new spaces, while a full internal remodel introduced a flowing layout with considered sightlines and abundant natural light. Every detail, from bespoke joinery to landscaped gardens, was conceived to elevate daily life and create a calm, confident home that balances warmth with quiet sophistication.

The design brief called for open-plan living without sacrificing flexibility. Spaces were arranged to feel purposeful and adaptable, supporting multiple uses while maintaining a sense of intimacy. Externally, traditional materials were combined with modern influences to create a timeless yet contemporary aesthetic that sits comfortably within its context.

Planning presented significant challenges, with opposition from multiple neighbours requiring a strategic and diplomatic approach. The design was tactfully adjusted to demonstrate that many elements could be delivered under Permitted Development allowances, while securing consent for a cohesive and considered scheme. This approach ensured the client’s vision was realised without compromise, resulting in a home that is both practical and aspirational.
