Ladies Mile Road

Ladies Mile Road is a contemporary residential development in Brighton, comprising two pairs of semi-detached homes designed to respond sensitively to the sloping site of a former school playground. The architectural concept prioritised natural light and garden connections, with living spaces positioned at lower ground level opening directly onto private gardens, while upper floors provide generous bedroom and bathroom accommodation. The design achieves a balance between modern architectural expression and contextual proportions, creating homes that feel distinctive yet harmonious within their surroundings.

Sustainability was central to the scheme. Each property incorporates air source heat pumps, solar panels, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, and electric vehicle charging points, supporting a low-carbon lifestyle and future-ready living. High-quality materials and refined detailing reinforce the developer’s ambition to deliver homes that combine elegance with environmental responsibility.

A complete concept-to-completion service was provided to the client, with our involvement began at the pre-planning stage, where we undertook site analysis, procured existing drawings, and developed initial design concepts. We managed the planning application process, working closely with the Local Planning Authority to refine the scheme and secure approval.

Following planning, we produced detailed building regulations drawings and remained actively involved throughout construction, assisting with site queries to ensure design integrity. The project was successfully completed, and all units sold shortly after launch.
